Automotive Technologies Application and Research Center offers unique opportunities to our students as a laboratory where technology and innovation meet. The projects carried out in our center not only provide our students with scientific knowledge, but also create a dynamic environment where they can use this knowledge to provide creative solutions to real-world problems. We give future engineers the chance to develop their practical skills and make a difference in a world transformed by technology. Some of the studies carried out within our center are as follows:
Babayiğit Electric Vehicle Project
“Gelişim 1”, an electric vehicle developed by Istanbul Gelişim University faculty members in about a year and supported by TÜBİTAK, has attracted international attention with the cooperation with Nagasaki University. Fujio Kurokawa, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at Nagasaki University, emphasized the ability of Turkish scientists to adapt quickly to technological innovations and stated that studies on the movement of the vehicle in the air will be supported within the scope of the cooperation. The project has been finalized.
Jet Braking System
Unlike conventional braking systems, the Babajet system, developed by the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture at Istanbul Gelisim University, does not depend on the friction coefficient of the road surface or tire condition. This innovative approach offers significant potential in preventing accidents. With 320 newtons of thrust, the system can increase braking distance and stop the vehicle without skidding without the need for the ABS system to be activated.
In addition, efforts are underway to produce indigenous engines, and all engines in the vehicle are managed by a 44 Watt energy system. Within the scope of R&D activities, it is aimed to make the system more functional and fully indigenous. The project has been finalized.
